Comment choisir sa taille de wig : le guide complet WigNess

How to choose your wig size: the complete WigNess guide

Choosing the right wig or weave size is essential for a natural and comfortable look. This WigNess guide will walk you through it step by step.

Step 1 — Measure Your Head Circumference

Grab a flexible measuring tape. Place it 1 cm above your ears, pass it across your forehead at your hairline, and meet it at the nape of your neck.

  • Small head: less than 54 cm
  • Medium head: 54–57 cm — standard size, fits 90% of women
  • Large head: 57 cm and up

All WigNess wigs are standard size with internal adjustable straps to adapt to your head shape.

Step 2 — Choose the Length in Inches

Lengths are measured in inches. Here is the conversion chart:

  • 16" ≈ 40 cm — shoulder length
  • 18" ≈ 46 cm — just below the shoulders
  • 20" ≈ 50 cm — mid-bust
  • 22" ≈ 56 cm — chest
  • 24" ≈ 61 cm — belly
  • 26" ≈ 66 cm — waist

Our advice: If you're debating between two lengths, choose the longer one — you can always cut, but never lengthen.

What Length for What Style?

  • Subtle natural look: 16" to 18" — ideal for everyday wear and the office
  • Balanced glamorous look: 20" to 22" — versatile for all occasions
  • Show-stopping look: 24" to 26" — for evenings and events

Curly Textures: Actual Length vs. Stated Length

For curly textures (Deep Wave, Water Wave, Kinky), the worn length is slightly shorter because the curls reduce the visual length by 10 to 15%. A 20" Deep Wave wig will visually appear like an 18" straight wig.

Same Measurement for All WigNess Products?

Yes — the length in inches is the same for the entire range: Lace Wigs, RAW Weaves, Half Wigs, and Miracle Knots. It is measured from the root to the ends, with the hair laid flat and straightened.
